About Karen

Karen Lynch Karen Lynch is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of young adult urban fantasy novels. She grew up in Bellevue, a small fishing village in the Canadian province of Newfoundland. One of nine children, she recalls their home was always noisy, warm, and loving. Newfoundland is known for its friendly, colorful people and rich folklore, which Karen credits for her vivid imagination.

Karen’s love of reading and writing began at an early age. She started writing her first book at eleven, inspired after reading a book called To Nowhere and Back by Margaret J Anderson. By the time she was twenty, she had written four books, which were never published. She thought of writing as a passion rather than a possible career.

In 1999, Karen moved to North Carolina to pursue her IT career as a software developer. She continued to write, but she was focused on her career. It wasn’t until 2012 that she started writing the book she knew she was meant to publish. A year later, she self-published Relentless, book one in her series of the same name. The series was a huge success with three of the seven books hitting the USA Today Bestseller list and the series making The New York Times Bestseller list.

Karen left her IT career to become a full-time author in 2016. Since then, she has completed the Relentless series and her second series Fae Games. In 2022, she moved to Portland, Maine where she lives with her three dogs and enjoys taking long walks by the ocean. She is currently at work on a new book, which has yet to be announced.
